BISON HOMES TO BE PRESENTING SPONSOR OF PARADA DEL SOL PARADE

55th Annual Parade will Feature Bison Homes Percherons and Bison Western Museum Stagecoach

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – The Scottsdale Jaycees and Bison Homes are proud to present the 55th Annual Parada del Sol Parade, well known as the “World’s Largest Horse Drawn Parade”. The event takes place this Saturday at 10:00 am in Scottsdale. The parade route starts on Scottsdale Road at Oak St. and proceeds north to Indian School Road.

Many of the finest equestrian units in the southwest will appear in the parade, including the Bison Homes Percheron six-horse hitch. Also featured in the parade will be the Bison Western Museum stagecoach complete with its own posse of cowboys and cowgirls.

The parade will be followed by the “Trail’s End Celebration”, an all day festival in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The Percheron team will be on display for viewing during the festival, right outside the Grapevine restaurant.

This beautiful black draft horse breed originated in France and was first imported into the United States in the mid 1800’s.  Known for its free movement, great disposition and heart, this gentle giant was a major factor in our country’s development.  They plowed fields, hauled freight, pulled fire engines and honorably served our American soldiers in both world wars as heavy artillery horses. Percherons normally tip the scales at just over 2,000 pounds, and stand about 17 to 18 hands high.

In addition, the Percherons will be performing at the Parada del Sol Rodeo which takes place next weekend, February 29th through March 2nd, at West World.

The Percherons are currently wintering at West World through the month of March. To visit these wonderful horses up close and personal at their West World stables, please contact their handler, Gary Keck, directly at 480-205-5990.

The Percherons are presented by Bison Homes, a premier builder of retreat homes in Northeast Arizona. For more information on the Percherons, Bison Homes or the Bison Western Museum, call 480-837-8700, or visit www.bisonhomes.com.
